Kathryn Zerk

Kathryn Zerk is our resident Director

Born in South Australia, Kathryn studied voice at Elder Conservatorium of Music and the Victorian College of the Arts. Kathryn lived in London for many years and toured extensively throughout Britain. Her performing experience in the UK includes solo appearances at St Martin in the Fields, Kings College Chapel Cambridge and with The Brandenburg Sinfonia conducted by Richard Bonynge in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales.

 Kathryn's concert performances include Górecki’s Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, The Creation Hayden, Requiem Mozart, Messiah Handel, Die Nachtigal Krenek and most recently Mass in C minor Mozart.

Kathryn's opera appearances include the roles Olympia and Stella The Tales of Hoffmann,  Le Feu Enfant et le Sortilège, Cathleen in the World Premiere of Riders to the sea by Fritz Hart, Anne Trulove The Rakes Progress,  Belinda Dido and Aeneas, La Sorella Infermeria Sour Angelica, Queen of the Night The Magic Flute, Musetta La Boheme, Peep-Bo Mikado, and in concert performances of Schwergewicht Krenek and Der Held Mossolow. She has also been a company member of Co*Opera, The State Opera of South Australia and WA Opera.

Kathryn has also enjoyed an extensive career as a music educator, teacher of singing and choral conductor. In Australia she has been engaged for many years with the Australian Youth Choir and has taught voice at a number of notable secondary schools. In the UK Kathryn conducted children's choirs at Llangollen international eisteddfod and at London's Royal Albert Hall.
